With the River Thames ambling its way downstream, bisected by Henley’s five-arched stone bridge, most of Henley is spread
out below this World War Two iconic aircraft. And in keeping with a recognised tradition, the artist features in the painting.
Here he can be seen in the act of bowling on the verdant green of the Henley Bowling Club.
